There are two main types of lubricant commonly sold:

Waterbased:   Safe on all types of toys, relatively inexpensive, suitable for vaginal and anal intercourse, and are condom- and latex-safe.  The downside of waterbased lubricants is that they tend to evaporate and sometimes become tacky as this occurs.  People with sensitive skin may find that waterbased lubricants cause irritation.

Silicone:   Best for non-silicone toys, and can be used during both anal and vaginal intercourse, as well as being great for massage oil, making latex shiny, increasing the vivacy of tattoos, adding a sheen to your hair, and even lubricating locks, zips, bolts and hinges around the home!  It is colourless, odourless, non-toxic, non-staining and great for sensitive skin.  Much smoother than waterbased lubricants, silicone lube is more expensive than waterbased lubricants too, although the extra expense is well worth it.   Silicone lubricant will not dry out, and only a few drops is ever needed.  We recommend using lubricant with all toys.  More info on lubricants
